Description:
This cello is being sold via an eBay auction... see the auction and pictures of the cello, case, and bow here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7360442128 .

This is a beautifully hand-crafted German cello which I have used for the past 6 years. This was the cello I chose to purchase once I got good enough that I needed a higher quality cello than the school-grade cello I had been using the previous years. This fine instrument has a deep and bold, resonating, beautifully rich tone that is extremely responsive and has an incredibly dynamic range. Perfect for soloistic or string quartet work.

The color of this cello is a warm orange-red tone. Superior craftsmanship and attention to detail with mother-of-pearl insets in the pegs and tailpiece. Take a look at the back of the cello (all photos can be seen on my eBay lising) - especially beautiful.

I'm regretting selling my beloved cello as it has been a huge part of my life, but I've come into some money trouble lately and this cello is the only thing of real value that I have to sell. The instrument was originally purchased at Kolacny Music here in Denver, CO. It's a small, family-owed store since 1930. The cello was last appraised at $9,800 (including the hard shell case).

The label on the inside of the cello reads:
Klaus Grisler
cellobaumeister (or "master cello builder")
Made in Germany
Nº095258
167F

You'll notice that there are some "character" marks on the front... this cello has been taken to many performances and chamber events, and over the years has had a few slight mishaps. These small scratches do not affect the cello other than cosmetically in the finish.

Included with the cello will come the cello stand, an excellent-quality wood bow with mother-of-pearl insets on the frog. The bow has recently been re-haired with new horsehair. You will also get a back-up bow - it's just fiberglass, but every musician should have a backup bow, just in case. You'll also receive my hard-shell cello case.

The cello currently has a new set of Thomastik Dominant Cello Strings... at over $100, they're expensive but very worth it.

I will also include any accessories I currently have... a brand new, un-used jar of Jade rosin (again... slightly expensive, but it's my favorite, I won't use anything else), my mute, and my rockstop.

If you have any questions about the cello, please let me know. If you happen to live near the Denver area, I'd be happy to set up a time for you to try out the cello.

Take a look at the eBay listing with the link above and you can see photos of my cello.
