videos
of the bach cello suites....
hi! does anyone know where i can
find the yo-yo ma videos of the suites? i was told they were around
$150 , but at amazon.com, they are about $60. and are they any good?
i got the rostropovitch recording last weekend - if you've never
heard it, you should! the 6th suite's prelude, especially, it is
gorgeous! does anyone know what type of cello he plays? of yeah, and
i've gotten my (violinist) orchestra teacher interested in them!

I saw the videos when P.B.S.
broadcast them and they were good. Also, they were very interesting
because in the first half of each Suite recording, they do a little
"behind-the-scenes" sort of thing. That was cool. The fifth Suite,
though, is just laughable. It's a drama thing that has a number of
absurd premises. Other than that, they were fun to watch. I'm not
sure if I would recommend buying them.
