Suggestions for Vn/Vn/Vc trios?
Hi everyone,
I'm curious
about trios for 2 violins and cello, that have a not-too-challening
2nd violin part, with fairly challenging 1st violin and cello parts.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you looking for gig music for
those instruments? What about "Music for Three" - those are the best
I know. www.lastresortmusic.com

I'm looking for something for a
coached chamber music program. I'm not that familiar with string
trio lit, but assume there must be some by Hadyn or Mozart that
might fit the bill?

Have you tried Shar?? I just took a
peek at their sheet music catalogs, and they have lotsa stuff
available, from Bach to Mozart to Haydn to Boccherini, and more!
Good luck.

I seem to remember a Telemann trio -
was quite nice. I can't remember the details though. Try searching
for Telemann when you're doing the other searches.

Hi Janet, You might try the Haydn
London Trios. None of the parts are dificult technically, but they
are satisfying pieces to play. Also, most any baroque trio sonata
would work without the harpsichord (may my musicology colleagues not
strike me dead.) The Bach trio sonata from the Musical Offering is a
meaty piece that offers plenty for everyone to do, but is not
enormously difficult technically.
