Re:
What about home security?
Yeah, but can't you distract a dog
w/a nice piece of meat??? Cats would never go for
that!!

Re:

You could distract a dog with a
piece of meat, but who wants to carry around a piece of meat? If the
dog goes for the meat, the smell of the meat will be on the burglar
as well, so you've got more trouble there! Besides, I wonder if a
dog, when protecting the home, would refuse meat as the fear and
defense instinct is stronger, just like a dog in the wild would
defend cubs if they were all sitting over a carcass (sorry for the
gory details) and a rival dog came nearby - I doubt they would sit
and eat. Just a theory, and not one I care to try.

Re:
Private email - withheld names
But Todd, these "mysterious" code
names have accomplished their objective - you are curious - you want
to know more.
Can't you just look at the code names as a
creative expression, or as a protective device? If you met one of us
with a code name in person, WE should have the option of disclosing
our identity.
Haven't you heard the old saying, "Always leave
them wanting more"?

I agree - the dogs would defend,
despite the meat. And, in the event they didn't, they'd bug the
burglar to death for more.
And, uh, my dogs are both, Todd.

Just out of curiosity, Todd, what
made you decide to bring this up??? Try to get us to "reveal"
ourselves on the information-packed I&E
board???
Cheers, MaryK
