The
perfect Cello Chat Motto
I have it - the Olympic motto is
perfect
Citius Altius Fortius
Faster, Higher,
Stronger!
We want to be able to play our fast notes well,
such as in Concerto for Orchestra, we need to play some high notes,
and a strong tone and strong fingers are also necesary.
It
also refers to the quality of the posts. The faster we type the
more time we have for practice.
Hopefully we talk of "higher"
matters.
And our posts are sometimes strongly worded!

You
have my vote - but how come you all know Latin
Hey I like that! You should think of
becoming a lawyer - made your reasons sound very convincing
BTW,
how does everyone know so much Latin around here? The only latin I
know is from something like an oratorio or a Requiem and somehow I
don't think 'Confutatis Maledectis' is an appropriate motto!

Long years of study. . .in a cold
cobwebby garret. I look like Miss Havishim, really I do
I
used to want to be a lawyer, but now I want to be in an orchestra. .
.where did I go wrong???????
Thanks for the compliments

Just to keep it origonal, let me
offer:
TENACITY,VERACITY,VELOCITY
It's not latin, but
it sounds like it a little

Motto
In light of recent rantings by the
cellistically "uninformed", how about a motto like "Where only
cellists should tread". A snob and damn proud of it!!

MaryK's suggestion back on the
original motto thread was a good one, and so timely!
"We
proudly tolerate every degree of ignorance, arrogance, and stupidity
on this board"

I hope your nose was at an
aristocratic angle and you were plucking a string when you said
that!

Re:

I'm with OyOy and MaryK on the
motto:
"We proudly tolerate every degree of ignorance,
arrogance, and stupidity on this board"
but perhaps we
should subsitute the words "particate in" for
"tolerate".

Rather than "subsitute [sic] the
words 'particate [sic] in'," perhaps we should just add . . . well,
you can guess what we should just add.

Re:

Well, hmm, isn't tolerating tacitly
participating in??? 'Til OyOy's post I'd forgotten I'd said that.
Still like my original suggestion, "It takes all kinds, and we've
got one of every kind," or something to that effect.
By my
number of posts lately, can y'all tell I'm going stir-crazy at
home??? <G>
