Motivation...... Where has it gone?
I have no motivation! I sit down and
play through a few pieces, put the cello down, and go do something
else. I don't really practice anymore I just play. PLEASE, someone
tell me where I can get so motivation!

Ensemble. It takes the pressure off
your individual soloistic performance which has a tendency, in my
case, to accentuate everything I can't quite do as well as I'd like.
Instead I can contribute to a group which seems to accentuate what I
can do, you get a chance to see everyone's lack of ability rather
than just your own. It adds a social component to what you're doing.
It's fun with more people!

Any chance you're going thru a
burn-out phase, Beaker?? If so, let it go for a while. Give Ellen's
suggestion a try too, though.
Good luck!

Hi girlfriend; I agree with the
advice to just let it go for a while. You will get it back- I know
because I know you and you do love the cello. We have all been
through phases where it just "isn't there". It happens to us all.
Sometihng will jump start you, and IMHO it cannot be forced. See you
soon!
