Maybe I
should just jump off a roof...
Or start drinking (seriously...).It
seems nothing but problems are coming my way lately.Work sucks, and
my employment has been reduced by 50%,the downpayment on my cello
isn't working out the way it was supposed to,keep picturing myself
with a horrible Chinese one,our flat is cold as hell, and there's no
new one in sight,I can't concentrate when I practice, because all
this other stuff,I've taken to like campari with orange juice..my
trip to Prague has been cancelled because the professor I was
supposed to stay with is sick...sounds like I need a therapist,or
what?I really don't know why I'm posting this,maybe I shouldn't
have,bothering 1000 people I don't even know with all this.At least
all my arms and legs are in their right places...Okay,now I'll go
out into the sun,at least that's a good thing, clear blue sky and 20
degreees(celsius)isn't the rule at the end of September where I
live. Okay, bye Hilde and all millionaires can email me at
hwinther@hotmail.com...

It
could be worse...
you could play the
viola.
Seriously though, don't fret. Take pleasure in
small simple things that are nice. Sometimes finding joy in small
things helps me get through rough times. Try to think positively,
and instead of letting all these thoughts pile up in your mind, try
to distance yourself a little and think of logical solutions- or the
beginnings of solutions. And above all... DON'T DRINK!!!
Go
hug your cello and play something you love to play.

My sister called me this
afternoon to tell me that the family dog had been run over by some
idiot, who just hit her and left her lying on the road. Her leg is
broken-in two places,and it's doubtful if she's gonna make
it.Hahh!I'd better pick up the viola,to make things a complete
tragedy! But -love the monkeys!! Hilde

Better to go jogging rather than
jump out of a window. I'm sure we've all had those times when
nothing seems to be going right. We get through it
eventually.
I am reminded of the worst hour of my life (one
that I can now laugh about). Many years ago I had a breakfast date
with this girl, someone who I had been pining over for months. So I
knock on her apartment door at the appointed time and I hear through
the door, "Oh %#&$, it's Tim!" Then I hear another groggy, male,
voice, "It's Tim? What's he doing here? Quick, where are my
clothes?" Despite her 'kind' offer to still go out to breakfast, I
decide that the date is over.
Feeling bummed, I go down the
street to a coffee shop and I order a freshly baked cinnamon roll
and a cup of hot tea. As I walk to my table, the cinnamon roll slips
off the flimsy paper plate and onto my leg, and covers my leg in
burning hot cinnamon roll ooze. As the cinnamon roll falls, my other
hand, which was still holding the hot tea, flinches, which causes
the tea to spill all over my hand and my other leg, scaulding both.
Disgusted, I storm out of the coffee shop.
Here's where the
cello-related part comes in. So then I walk to Tower Records up the
street and I, miracles of miracles, find a tape of Casals playing
the Dvorak Concerto, a recording that I had been seeking for quite
some time. Finally, things are looking up! So I excitedly take the
bus home in anticipation of listening to my new recording. But, as
the bus drives away after I step off, I realize that I left the tape
on the bus.....
Sometimes it just doesn't pay to get up in
the morning.

Re:

Oh dear...please don't turn to the
demon drink, or opium. I was feeling quite miserable the other
day too. Here is my list:
1) 1996 was the best and happiest
and most wonderful year of my life, and I DIDN'T REALISE IT! What an
idiot I was.
2) Then I realised that it is now 2000, so my
life has been going down hill for four years.
3) I watched
the Olympic swimming, and realised what a good swimmer *I was*, in
fact only 20 seconds slower than the World Record for the 400IM
(well, it seems like a lot, but not really - it's just that the last
20 seconds are the hardest) and the fact that I have no motivation
to swim, and not opportunity at the moment. It's terrible being
despondent at midnight.
4) People whom I thought were my
friends have been listening to mean gossip about me, and are being
chilly.
5) I have a University Audition in less than a month,
and what if I don't get in???? Well, try again, but it would be a
disappointment.
Still, life is not all bad - lots of good
things are happening. It is just hard not to let the bad stuff take
priority. Why not take up something new? Like weightlifting? It
looked great on TV! Also, hard exercises releases endorphins, which
make you happy!

desperation"

Tim - That is about the most pitiful
broken heart story I ever heard. Made me feel like putting a pot of
coffee on and frying you some eggs.

Here's the passage you might be
thinking of.
Psalms 104:15 And wine that maketh glad the
heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which
strengtheneth man's heart.

I'm sorry, but my great grandmother
was a member of the NZWTU (NZ Womens' Temperance Union) &
obviously I am a throwback (well, with the debauchery that goes on
in this house, who wouldn't be?)
