Lynn
Harrell Cds
I have looked all over the east
coast, and on the internet but I cant seem to find any Lynn harrell
only cd's. All I found was him playing with Kennedy. If anyone knows
where I can purchase a Dvorak, or rococo of his it would be great.
Thanks!

Try www.cdeurope.com
Their
search engine is weird, though. I did an exact match for Lynn
Harrell and they said there were 0. I refused to accept that, so I
searched for Harrell. Then of course I got Tom and Bill, whoever
they are, but I ALSO got Lynn. I don't have the time to try to
ferret out what you're looking for, but give it a whirl.
No
guarantee they can get what is listed, but I had good luck getting a
video from there I couldn't get anywhere else, so it's worth a shot.
Oddly enough, I believe they are in Florida despite the name.
The only Harrell I have is the Saint Saens/Lalo/Schumann
Cello Concertos. He is tough to find. Good luck.

I have a CD of LH playing Brahms
concertos - I'm quite certain I got it at Borders.

Re:

Try CD Universe. They list 11 albums
with Harrell, but mostly chamber music and orchestral excerpts,
including Kol Nidrei. Search Classical under performer.
cdu2.cduniverse.com/asp/c..._lev1.asp?
Try
also HBD Recordings Direct. They have a very good selection of
classical and show 21 listings for Harrell (includes multiple
listings for pieces on one
CD).

Re:

As has been mentioned here before,
Harrell has made scores of recordings, including all the standard
cello repertoire and beyond, sometimes in multiple versions. These
recordings were mostly on London, with others on EMI, Columbia, and
RCA. Why virtually all them are out of print now is a mystery, and a
very irritating one too. One can only hope that management at these
labels will either see the light soon or be replaced. In the
meantime your best bet is to scour the used CD & LP bins near
you, and on the 'net.

Re:

I have run up against that problem a
couple of times. I very much like the Harrell recordings of the
Herbert Concertos and small pieces for cello and Orch....out of
print, Now I'm searching for ANYONE who has a copy of the CD
"Andante Cantabile", with Harrell and Bruno Canino at the piano. If
anyone has this album of encore and tunefull songs, PLEASE e-mail
me. I have not been able to find it anywhere on the web, and the one
copy that I did find, in a public library, had such a big scratch on
it that it was unsuitable to make any kind of copy of at all.I dont
have any qualms about copying an album that I know is out of print,
and that I cant find. Can anybody out there help me??
thanks....Bill
