Greetings from one who is unsure re identity
I have just started posting
- only can use the internet briefly, and although you seem such like
a jolly fierce bunch (from archives) I thought I might hop
in.
I am a quasi-pro living in the UK. I played in various
professional orchestras around the country, then went more for
chamber orchestras/baroque/classical ensembles and teaching.
Now I am a Suzuki teacher and teaching theory to young
children. I am an apprentic librarian.
With all this to do,
I only play the cello in the evenings. I am rehearsing Telemann
sonatas with a flautist and a violinist for a concert, and
freelancing generally.
Don't know if I
qualify!!!

Course you qualify!!! what part of
Uk are you from? There don't seem to be many of us on this board,
but the chat is always interesting, nor fierce at all
really.....!!

Our qualifications have become
pretty broad. Post here or the main board. Quasi-pro, semi-pro -
sounds the same to me.

Lucy, hi! Your timing is impeccable.
Would you happen to be aware of some chamber pieces that would work
for a lopsided assemblage of perhaps 3 violins, 2 violas and a
cello? It could end up being 5/2/1. Not sure yet. It came up in
conversation and I was going to ask around for ideas. This seems
like a good place to start. Welcome!!!!
Those of you who
aren't Lucy, same question. All help is appreciated, as you
know.

A Brandenburg Concerto might work,
and you might need a harpsichord, or at least keyboard that sounds
like a harpsichord.
I do not have any direct suggestions,
but you should be able to find some sort of Baroque music in which
two of the violins can double........
I will look through
some of my material for more suggestions.
