I
thought of a new interesting topic...
Well, to me, anyway.
What are
your favorite websites? Any good sources for sheet music, books,
equipment, etc. How about interesting stuff to read? Any good lists
to subscribe to?
I have two that I enjoy, both from the same
source: This is True and Heroic Stories. The website is
www.thisistrue.com.
I'm always on the lookout for new and
interesting ways to avoid actually doing any work...

Just yesterday I stumbled into a
really cool Website - if you enjoy poetry, that is. You can read the
classics, post your own stuff, or critique the poetry of others.
They call it a "Poetry Brawl." Gotta love it!

a few
of my favorites:
of course, when I log on I
immediately come to the ICS. then
I have to check on my internet pets at www.blipz.com (Prouvaire, my
dog, is giving me so much trouble recently. I think I might just
have to sell him. ) Then I
can always waste time at Amazon.com finding CD's and books that I
would like to add to my $5,000 wish list. Then I usually just browse
through my "Favorites List" until I find something I would like.
Unfortunately, my list is so eclectic that I really couldn't choose
any two or three to list here.

This isn't cello-related, but when I
start my daily trip through my favorites (ebay first!), there's
always thehungersite.com. By clicking on this site daily, the
sponsors donate food to the UN World Hunger program. You can only
click once a day, but if you have a work computer and a home
computer, you can double the efforts. Karin

Re:

What timing, indeed!!!! here we go
again, Janet!
I just happened to look up a high school friend
on the internet, because my dad had mentioned that if I did, I would
find a lot. Well, boy, did I ever! One thing he did since high
school was ... well... CURE BLINDNESS!!! Then, when he was done with
that, he was a physics professor for a while... and all the while,
he was starting a website about great literature and poetry - for
our generation.
jollyroger.nbci.com/
It's
a pretty great site, if you love literature and poetry. At least, in
his and my opinion. After all,
we were educated together... by teachers who taught us to love
science and literature and history, and... well...
THOUGHT.
hmmm... which triggered me to re-evaluate what I'm
doing with MY life!!!
geez - curing blindness! no joke!

Following on the premise of "Lucy
knows best" from the PPE board, and to continue on the chain on
sanctimoniousness, I always begin my wander through wonderland
(ie the net) with www.thehungersite.com which links to
www.therainforestsite.com and then on to a site that dispenses
medical care to sick children. There are also links to other
do-gooder sites, which I enjoy, for the simple reason that I can
then go about my work for the day with an easy consience.
I
wish that I could find a site that that dispences donations of cello
strings to poor cellists
