Endpins
- Article in STRINGS Magazine
The November/December issue of
STRINGS Magazine, just out, contains an article on endpins
("Searching for the Perfect Endpin," by Sarah Freiberg, p. 40) that
might be of interest to all those that have recently discussed
carbon fiber and other endpins on this board.

I've been looking for STRINGS
magazine or any other periodicals concerning stringed instruments
but they are not available in any outlets at this end of the
universe. Can anyone supply a url or address where subscriptions
might be available?

You can find The Strad
at:

Strings Magazine at:

I
gave up trying to find The Strad in the magazine shops, so I took
out a subscription when they offered a reduced price to ICS
members...still expensive but a good magazine. I can get Strings
locally (Guelph, Ontario) and so I buy it when it comes out. You
might be better off to subcribe where you
live.

Hi Ernie,
I wish I had a copy
of the STRINGS magazine to see the article you mentioned. Can you
give me a summary of what conclusions they came up with as to what
the best sounding endpins were. What did they say about endpin rods
and rod materials in the article? Thanks for the
information.
