Cello-viola duets?
My best friend in orchestra just
happens to be a violist. Well he is talented (and so am I to word it
pretentiously) and even though the viola is not MY favorite
instrument I still enjoy "dueting" with him. Does anybody know of
any GOOD duets we could play. I would really appreciate it if anyone
responded.

viola +
cello duets
Well, if you must play with a
violist......
Beethoven "With Two Eyeglasses Obligato" Duet, Hindemith,
Piston. These are no-holds-barred as far as difficulty.
I
think I have played another, maybe by Danzi or Stamitz?

Danzi
Danzi- I think there are two of
them- both very nice.

I've
heard...
that there is a duet by Rebecca
Clarke, but have no idea where to find it.
Is this
true?

there is a Hindemith duo, and my
absolute favorite is the Bukoliki by Lutoslawski. He wrote them for
piano but later he arranged them for viola and cello. Great
fun!!!

There's also a butt-kicker by the
contemporary Italian composer Scelsi, but if you're not of the
Xennakis & Co. persuasion and/or don't want to part with about
$75 this ain't for U!
