grade of student cello. You can contact them directly

Dear Terry !! Thank
you so much for the info !! I'll write them and ask whether they got
a brochure. Would you let me know the URL of your 'sources' ?? I'd
be very happy to see other Semmlinger celli. Thanx again, xxx
Martine.

Re:

No problem. I am glad to help out.
I could not find an actual website for Semmlinger, but the
following URLs will give you some further information. Your best bet
is to contact them directly as you have indicated you are going to
do.
http://www.susi.de/musik-zentrum/string_viola-2.html
www.wichitaband.com/violin.html
From
the second of the above URLs:
"Lothar SEMMLINGER, Baiersdorf,
(Bavaria), 1998. Since receiving his "Masters Letter" a decade ago,
Semmlinger has established a four man workshop near Nuremburg which
produces only celli. His instruments sound quite amazing,
considering the low prices. The secret of his success lies in his
correct graduations of the top and back and the selection of
well-aged wood. We often have several of his celli available, in a
number of different models. The least expensive are carved of simple
wood, but often sound as lovely and full as the most expensive
instruments. All are fully carved and never made of laminated wood.
Highest recommendation! Photos are of least expensive model.
Prices range from $2150 to $2850."
