practice cellos
Has anyone made the practice cello
from plans by Ernest Nussbaum (or anyone else)? I'm looking for a
travel cello that breaks down and will travel as carry on luggage on
the airlines.

I didn't make it myself, but I
bought one of the practice cellos that Ernest built and I think it's
great!
Air travel being crowded these days, though, I found
that you can't always count on enough space being available in the
overhead bin, especially if you have a tight connection and get on
the plane late. I had a hard case built for it and I always check it
as baggage.

Thanks, Val. I'm encouraged to know
you like the practice cello. I'm trying to decide if I should try to
make the cello from Ernie's plans. Looking through some older
postings, I saw one from Ernie and apparently he's no longer making
the practice cello, just selling the plans. I'd love to hear from
anyone who's actually tried to make one to see how easy/difficult it
was and how long it took.
