I may be wrong, but from what I
remember people can either listen to or download things off MP3.com.
Most people find it easier of course to just download music than
actually stay at the website and listen to it. I think based on what
you even said, that mp3.com will only pay you if people LISTEN to
the mp3s not DOWNLOAD. This is pure speculation,but it probably
has to do with the fact that people if they are listeing to your
music, will also look at the annoying pop-up ads on the screen, and
hence mp3 is agreeing to give you part of the profits they make from
the advertisers. What do they have to gain by paying you if
someone just downloads for 1.5 minutes and leaves? Its
understandable that you might be angry that you weren't paid, but
you lose in the long run. Less people know about you, less
publicity, etc. People will just find the pieces elsewhere
