Cellist Abby Newton, who plays and
records Scottish tunes and airs will be on National Public Radio's
Thistle and Shamrock show in the first week of February. Long ago I
put up a post about her first album:Crossing to Scotland, and the
printed music that went with the album, The website for the show
says that there will be an interview with her as well as stuff from
her soon to be out recording "Castles, Kirks, and Caves". The show
is on here in North East PA. on Saturday nights, check your local
stations for the time there. I love her music and it will be
interesting to learn more about her and her other musical
projects.... Bill

Bill, Thanks for the information.
I recently discovered Abby Newton when I was searching the topic of
Celtic cello music. I bought the CD, Crossing to Scotland, and the
printed music that went with it a few months ago. I really enjoy
both hearing and playing the music. I hope Abby offers the sheet
music to go along with her new recording. Bill, keep up the good
work and please let me know of any other music either played or
recorded by Abby. Thanks. Duane

I, too, got the recording --
beautiful -- and the music (which I can't play, yet - something to
strive for). I've been a fan of hers since 1st hearing her live
with Jean Redpath; was thrilled to find out about Crossing to
Scotland, and have been meaning to find her website/email and beg
her for another recording...
Anyway, thanks for the notice
and update.
