Cello/Guitar music
A friend of mine wanted to do a
cello/guitar lunchtime concert at our school and I said that I would
be very happy to play with him. The only problem is that we couldn't
find anything to play... There was nothing for cello and guitar in
the school's library and all we got now is the Vivaldi E minor
sonata. There's got to be something more written for cello and
guitar...?

Try transcribing some of the sonatas
for violin and guitar of Paganini. I was going to do this with Kevin
McGowin sometime this year.

Re:

Frank Music Company in NYC has 3
songs listed for cello and guitar.
Dvorak Humoresque
$9.50 Saint-Saens The Swan $10.00 Vivaldi Sonata in e, RV 40
I think the Swan would be perfect to play, since you
probably already know it.

använd
alltid libris!
Tja Stefan!
Gå in på libris
avancerad sökning på www.libris.kb.se/avancerad.sokning.html
Skriv

cello
and guitar
The Satie Gymnopedie should make
excellent cello and guitar pieces. Many Baroque cello sonatas should
work well, with the guitar realizing the harmonies under the solo
cello line. Pieces like the Bach Arioso, where the accompanament is
slow and chordal, should also be easy to arrange. I don't know what
real chamber music pieces there could be. Paul's idea about the
Paganini works seems like a good place to start.

Re:

Speaking of Baroque sonatas, there
are several Telemann sonatas & suites arranged for
flute/recorder & guitar - all fairly simple but enjoyable
pieces. The flute part would obviously need to be dropped an
octave.
Good luck!
