Wanna
buy a Cello..how much $ is enuf?
I am a student who also plays violin
and have been playing for 4 years. I plan to become an orchestra
director (so I don't want a piece of plastic to play on, but
something nice). I have been borrowing friends' cellos and staying
after school for hours and practicing on their's. We (my family) are
on a budget, so the instruments in the thousand+ dollar range is a
little overwhelming. What is a normal price range? Should we rent?
What is normal price for that? Should we buy used from the
newspaper? ANY suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!

Enough
is Enough!
Well, price range can be deceptive.
You can get a piece of junk for $1500., or a very nice student
cello. But your probably in the correct begining range for price,
when you say $1000+. Check out Cellos2Go or Stringworks. Just add
www before, and .com after and you have it! I beleive they both have
a rent/purchase program, and best of all, you will get excellent
advice and guidence from them. Best of luck to
you!

You can get lucky. I bought a US$300
cello at a garage sale, and it was appraised at US$5,600.
