Re:

Sarita: I have no idea but hope
to attend the concert and find out, will report post-haste, promise.
I assume that Presser is the publisher...haven't they done most of
Schickele's stuff? Perhaps there's a websiute breakdown of the
scoring there.

Justin - I visited the Presser web
site first. They don't seem to have anything more recent than 1996.
I'm counting on you for the info. Sarita (?)

About Presser.for Sarah
Couldn't resist the Spanish
honorific...guess we'll have to ask the soloist...anyone know where
the world premiere took place, and with whom? The Tobias listing is
for a NY premiere... justinito

Re:

I heard the premiere a few months
ago in Pasadena, CA, with the Pasadena Symphony. Paul Tobias played,
with Jorge Mester conducting. Playing was great. The piece had some
touching moments and some water-treading. I expect that the
orchestration might be thinned a bit for the second performance, as
the cello was covered in some places. (I don't remember the details,
but there was a pretty full brass section.)
