What
school?
I see people talking about their
school's auditions, and I see people bragging about what cello they
play,,it only makes sense to continue the tradition here. What fine
institutions of higher learning do you all atttend??
I'll go
first,, I'm going into senior year at Brown University in
Providence, RI. I'm a biology major, and actually I'm auditioning
for orchestra for the first time this year <on cello that
is!>
Who knows, if we keep this up we might me someone on
this board who goes to our school that we never knew!!

I'm going to be a 2nd year at
Western Michigan University, School o' Music.
Two friends of
mine went to Brown. Good school.

I'm in my third year at the
University of Missouri - Columbia. A friend of mine also goes to
Brown. Speaking of that, I should email him...

I am entering my sophomore year at
Yale University in New Haven, CT. I am an early childhood teacher
prep major as well as a music major. I'm also in the Yale Band. As
far as Brown, I met someone that goes to brown, she seems like a
good person. I guess good people can go to Brown

Wow, I didn't know so many of you
knew other brownies. That's so cool you go to Yale, I know 3 people
from my high school who went to Yale, and actually one of my
co-interns at work is going into senior year at Yale. Actually I
really would have gone to Yale except there was one minor hurdle,...
actually getting ACCEPTED 
But Brown is cool, I'm glad I came here 
The
Yale Band? They have cellos in the Band?
Doesn't Yale have
some kind of famous cello ensemble?

I'm entering my second year at
Indiana University in Bloomington majoring in Cello
Performance.
I also know some people that go to Brown and
Yale.....popular schools I guess.....
That's cool you play in
the Yale band......
I played in the all campus band my first year
at IU...I play the french horn also......since I was ten actually
but decided cello was the thing for me.......
How is
the band at Yale???
So Laura......you take from Bruce
Uchimura......
He teaches at ENCORE where I go for the
summer....he's a really good teacher I've heard....he's very funny
also and his kids are very cute  How
do you like him??

He's hilarious, and yes, his kids
are adorable. Sometimes during my lessons if they don't have school,
they knock on Uch's studio door and act all grown-up and
professional (Nice to meet you, my name is..., oh, so what are you
working on today..., etc). Uchimura's a great teacher, very
motivating and easy to understand.
How many summers have you
been going to Encore? I was thinking about maybe going next
summer.
