Did any of you play the Brahms
double concert with Gil Shaham and Wang Jian? If so what were the
opinions of Mr. Wang Jian? Thanks

can tell you how the performance was, before we play
it!
Actually, that concert is this Sunday, the
13th.

If only Claudia Cassidy was still
alive. During her tenure as music critic for the Chicago Tribune,
she was caught at having written reviews BEFORE concerts. The most
notorious occasion was the time a review she had "pre-written" got
published in the Tribune the day of the concert! Beecham, the
concert's conductor, read the review to the audience from the podium
before directing the performance so that the "audience could know
what to expect".

Don't you love it?
In Houston
the program was once changed at the last minute, the change being
announced only at the concert. The critic reviewed the program
advertised in the brochure!
