Having finished auditioning for school, I've had an opportunity to look into the matter of the Paganini-Silva Caprices for solo cello. The subject of the arrangement of the violin caprices by L. Silva has been a topic for discussion on this site a few times. I have discovered, however, that it is nearly impossible to find it at any retail source.

Luckily, I discovered that the University of North Carolina (Greensboro), Jackson Library, contains Luigi Silva's papers, and has his "Paganini-Silva 24 Caprices for Cello Solo" in its collection. The Music Librarian has determined that they are able and willing to make a copy and mail it to anyone for $16.

If, like me, you are interested in this music, mail a check for $16 to the Jackson Library Photocopy Fund. Mail your payment to:

I was just going to let everyone know about that music collection. Ms. Shankle is sending me the Britten Haydn C major cadenzas from the Janos Schloz music collection.
