Paul Siefried's Bows
Does anyone know who sells
Paul Siefried's bows?
I have been calling around and all I hear is,
I had one and sold it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, thanks, I tried that, but I never
heard from him!

Any idea of what shops carry his bows?

Where do you live? I know that Ifshin Violins and Hans Weisshaar in CA usually carry his bows.

I found a shop in Vancouver, BC selling his bow,Gerard's Bass Shop .

I think you should give Paul Siefried another try. If he didn't pass away i'm sure he'll give you the time of day.

The board has actually discussed Siefried in the past.

Re: Paul Siefried's Bows
Did you email him or call him? I've emailed him a few times within the past year and he always answered my questions within a few days.
I got one of his bows about a year ago, and it is (as of now) the best thing that I could have done. My friends say that it is the most beautiful bow they have ever seen (and they mean EVER), and it plays like you wouldn't believe! It's my magic bow.

Anyway, email him and you're bound to get an answer fairly quickly (unless he's currently out of town or something that doesn't allow him access to email).

Funny thing is, every time I email him, I sort of drop off the face of the earth after I get his attention. For example, I asked him back in May if he could take a look at my bow for some touch-ups sometime this past summer, and he said 'sure, send it any time.' Then of course I had some money problems over the summer and couldn't send it, and I never got back to him about it. I have this streak going now- email him, get his attention, then (I) just disappear.

I tried Ifshin, they didn't have one. I asked him if they sold it and he said it wasn't there and gave me other bows to try, Morgan Anderson and Jacques Poullot.
I really want to try one of Mr. Siefried's bows.

Where in California is Hans Weisshaar?

I will try him and Gerards too.I will also try
Mr. Siefried again.

If it is not too rude, what does he charge for his bows?
I am looking for a violin bow of his as well.
I have heard such great things about his bows.

Did you ever try the Morgan Anderson or Jacques Poullot
bows? I don't want to buy any bow until I try Mr. Siefrieds! :)

Thank you, I really appreciate the help.

Paul Siefried's Bows
I am sorry to hear Hans Weissharrt is dead.
Thank you for the number.

I checked the sites from Christopher Chan after I asked the questions about the cost. Whoops! Thank you for the sites. Now I know the answer to the price question. I will also inquire as to the bow from the bass shop.

Thanks to all. Any more information or opinions about great bow makers and great bows in the $2000-$3000 range is greatly appreciated as well.

Weisshaar has been dead for years, his shop is run by Margaret Shipman.

There are other Weisshaars in CA, but i don't think they are related, Michael and Rena Weisshaar.
