FYI - Musician's
Practice Planner
I just happened to be looking through my new SHAR catalog and
noticed a new item that I thought might interest you. The musician's
practice planner sells for $6.95 and allows both teacher and student
to write out weekly lesson plans with pages for daily goals,
metronome markings or other comments. It always helps and motivates
me to practice more often when I have some kind written blueprint to
follow. But then again, I also have those spontaneous moments when I
just sit and play whatever comes to mind !!

I confess, I have a copy. I wanted to see if it was any better than
the one Young Musicians sells, which is tailored to Suzuki
repetoire. For my students, I like the Suzuki one. It has a grid to
put little stickers for each item practiced each day. I get a lot of
mileage out of doling out stickers. The other one (from Shar) is a
much more "grown up" version - no sticker grid! But it is very
nicely laid out, with room for a lot of good information.

Practice Planner arrived today
Just by glancing through the pages, this book allows for
organization and creativity. I think I'm going to enjoy using it.
Whether you have a teacher at this point or not - it still seems
worth the while. If you're interested in their website, they provide
page layouts, examples, and ordering
information.
