How much does
your luthier charge?
Is there any "standard" charge for cello restoration service? I am
from Hong Kong, and the luthiers here charge around $200 for
re-shaping the fingerboard, building a new bridge and adjusting the
soundpost. Is this the standard price in other countries?

I'm not sure how the exchange rate works, but if that was american
dollars, and it was a good job, that'd be a bargain. The guy in
Atlanta that I use, B. Kieta, charged me about 350$ to do all that,
but it was a really excellent job. If you go to Russell Wagner in
Chicago, it's over 600$ for the same service.

Luthiers in
HongKong
I've tried few luthiers in HongKong. For those things you want
to make on ur cello, you may find Andrew. He is one of the best
luthier in HongKong. I remeber that it will just cost around HK$1000
for the bridge and the other will be within $300. Find him on
phone, 27582349.
Hope the information is useful for
u.

Hi Elgee
Thanks! Are you living in Hong Kong? Do you mind if
I call you and ask you a few questions? My mobile is 94685218. Could
you leave yours for me? If it is not convenient then you could call
me. Thanks!
