Manhattan School of Music
Hi, I received my acceptance letter
from MSM yesterday, and I have decided that it is the school for me.
I was just wondering if anyone on the board goes and could offer
some insight as a student there. I will be a freshman in undergrad.
Thank you!

I requested Alan Stepansky,
Nathaniel Rosen or David Geber. I not sure which one I have been
assigned yet.

teachers and MSM
Actually, I shouldn't be on this
board because I'm not in college anymore but I'm glad I got on
because I'm a recent MSM grad!
First of all,
Congratulations! I studied with David Geber for my undergrad and I
would be happy to offer some feedback. You can email me
jessicaparker@earthlink.net
Some of the most exciting and
interesting lessons I ever had in my life were with Geber on chamber
music. Obviously, that's his *forte* and it really shows in his
teaching. You would also have the bonus of occasional lessons with
his wife, Julia Lichten who is a cellist in Orpheus. She became
something of a goddess in my eyes by senior year, but my Freshman
year lessons with her scared me. She's very intense.
I hope
you have a great time there. From what I can tell the program has
changed a lot, and for the better!
