how do i get this string to fit into my tailpiece?
i bought a c string and it wont fit in my tuner thingy on my tailpiece...it's too thick.

how do i make it work?

If you have a metal fine tuner, you should be able to pry it open just a little wider with a screw driver. Protect you cello surface with a towel before you hold any tool above it.

If you have a built-in fine tuner, there is stell some "give" but be careful, or you may need to replace the entire tailpiece.

I've heard that one solution is to squeeze the string into a flatter shape with pliers - give it a try.
