Drugs--epi
something????
Does anyone out there have any info about "nerve-alleviating"
drugs, specifically, beta-blockers? I know a lot of musicians who
use them before auditions and I am very curious about how exactly
they work in the body (how metabolized, addictive, possiblity of OD,
side effects?) Please respond if you have any helpful (and legal)
ways to calm down before performance.

Inderol - can't take if you are asthmatic.

Talk to your doctor. Proprananol is the usual drug, Inderol is the
trade name. It's basically harmless, unless your asmatic, or have
certain liver or kidney ailments. It just keeps your hands from
shaking from any nervous or anxiety problems you may be having. Some
people report something like "out of body" experiences when using it
- I think that's because you can be scared out of your mind, and
still have functioning hands. It's been a life saver for me on many
occasions.

drugs
I think you should take those drugs ONLY if you can't handle the
audition-situation without. Stage-fright is not a problem of your
body, but one of your mind! Anna
