Confused by Boccherini Bb
Just curious, I gather there are two editions of the Boccherini Bb concerto. There's the one the Jackie Du Pre recorded, which I guess is the Grutzmacher edition, and another one. The Grutzmacher edition has the section with the staccato eighth note "leaps"?
My question, is why are there two such drastically different versions? Which one is it considered to be most like what Boccherini wrote?

RE: Confused by Boccherini Bb
Boccherini wrote a Bb concerto of his own and it is avaiable in print and on recording (try Yo-Yo Ma or Anner Bylsma) and Grutzmacher took the liberty of editing a lot of the material, romanticizing it, and replacing the entire 2nd movement with one from a different Boccherini concerto. So the Grutzmacher edition is pretty far from the original. Nice though.
