Beethoven cello
romance?
Hi, I was looking at a list of cello music published by IMC and
noticed a "Romance No.1 in G". Is this the violin romance? Has
anyone played it or got any recordings of it (by cellists)?

I have a copy of it. It's just like the violin romance, just
transposed down an octave and a fifth. I does make you with you had
that extra finger like the violinists...

Is it hard to play? I'm thinking of ordering it.

It isn't easy, but not impossible. Those double stops show up every
little intonation flaw. Like a lot of the Bach suites, it's probably
best worked on alone and not performed. There's nothing worse than
out of tune double stops - unless it's out of tune arpeggios!
