The piece was recorded here in LA recently with Yo-Yo, J.W., and a raft of studio players. A couple of people mentioned it to me. They didn't comment on the piece, but were amazed (and these are seaoned/jaded pros) at Yo-Yo's intensity and endurance. He was always "on," they said.

I enjoyed a similar experience ("Ma always on") with Lynn Harrell in the early '80's when I was in the Cleveland Orchestra. We recorded the Saint-Saens and Schumann concerti, conducted by Marriner. Any retakes were mainly caused by inaccuracies in the orchestra or by Marriner. Harrell was white hot through both sessions and I was amazed at how a guy could be so ON for so LONG. An unforgettable and inspiring experience!!!!!

Is this an interesting piece? I really like JW's movie music to Star Wars, Indiana Jones , etc. I just hope his cello concerto is as catchy!
