To Gary
Gary, I had a seven-and-a-half-week sabbatical last summer. The
sabbatical itself was great, and in another 11 years I get to take
another one! Going back to work was hell. Not so much the job itself
(am fortunate in that I enjoy my job and where I work), but just
having to get back into that old work routine, you know, setting the
clock every day, putting on pantihose (well, maybe you don't know
abt that part! ), having others make demands on me/my time... It's
been almost a year since the beginning of my sabbatical, and only
now am I totally "over" it. Have a good time when yours rolls
around, though! It's great getting paid not to
work!
Cheers, MaryK

You're talking
about unemployment, right?

Re: You're

Nope. After 15 years in the CSO, one is eligible to take a one-year
sabbatical at @67% of one's current pay. 7 years after the first
sabbatical, one becomes eligible for another. I've been in the CSO
since 1986. I'm eligible to retire with a full pension in a mere 11
years when I become 59. If I plan these things
right...........hmmmm..............

I'm eligible for full pension in 3
years. I'll be 55. I'm pretty sure I won't do it.
