Stravinsky-Russian Maiden's Song (HELP)
I ordered the cello arrangment of this piece and was mistakenly given the violin arrangment. I don't want to change it for the cello version because the place I get my sheet music from shuts in a few days for the summer and I would have to wait two months for the music. I wondered if anyone could tell me the differences between the two arrangments. I don't think it is taken down an octave (at least not totally) because the cello version is on an advanced sylabus alongside pieces such as the ritual fire dance and Resphighi's Adagio con variazioni. The violin music starts on the B flat above middle C and then goes up to the F.

Re: Stravinsky-Russian Maiden's Song (HELP)
I have the cello version (published by Boosey and Hawkes in 1951 and arranged for cello and piano by Dimitry Markevitch) and the piece seems to be an octave lower than the violin version you've cited. The cello version starts on the b-flat below middle C. However, I do see an optional "8ve basso ad lib" from measures 38 to 47. Hope this helps and good luck. One of my favorite pieces, this.
