Rings, watches,
bracelets, etc.
Personally, I need to remove all jewelry from the left hand and
wrist, while performing, but it doesn't seem to matter with the
right. However, it seems logical that a watch on the right wrist
would also interfere with bowing. What has been your experience?

I began wearing my watch on the right wrist back when I started
learning thumb position, to avoid scratching the cello. It doesn't
give me any difficulties with bowing, but it is a very small
watch.

I wear a wedding ring on my left hand, and a watch on my right
wrist. I've never had any problems.

I can't wear a watch on my right (or left) hand when I play. Even
on my right hand I sometimes bump the side of the cello when playing
on the C string. I used to have to take my wedding ring off to play,
but now that I'm chubbier it hides in the fold where my finger joins
the hand and doesn't bump the cello. (I'm not yet chubby enough for
my watch to hide in the fold where my hand joins the wrist!)

Zambo?
Chubby?
Not in the pictures I've seen.....
Personally, I keep my
watch secured to the zipper on my rucksack, which goes everywhere
with me. However, I also have watches attached to my cello and
violin cases. Unfortunately they don't all say the same time. I'm
not married, so I don't have a ring.

I can't stand playing with junk (also known as jewelry) on my hands
or wrists. It just bugs me.

Re: Rings,

I wear a watch on my right wrist, it is a little bulky and I find
it difficult to bow properly when I wear it so I take it off
whenever I perform or practice. I feel that my movement is inhibited
because my hand is weighed down by the watch and it is also
irritating to play while wearing a watch.
