This is a tall order..I am asking a lot, so I am not expecting too many responses. I have not played for about 10 years, but recently aquired a nice student cello to practice with. I remember, almost by heart, a sonata I played in many student auditions, and I believe it is a popular piece for newer students--although I cannot remember who composed it, or what the title is! I believe it was a "Sonata #6," although I can't be sure. All I can tell you about it is that it starts out with 3 chords, basically, starting on the D and G strings, and moving up to the A, and then sweeping up from the C string to the A. If you have any ideas, any at all, please respond, as I would like to find sheet music fot this particular piece. Thank you for your help!! I'm not sure of the number but 6 doesn't sound right. If I'm right, it is in Suzuki Book IV. There's some Suzuki music at mp3.com and if you find it there you could listen and see if it is the piece you remember.
