    The American Cello Council promotes professional cellists and the American and World Cello Congresses, as well assisting in the formation of local cello clubs and societies. Each Cello Club in the United States may have 2 representatives to the Cello Council.

    Atsumi, along with cellists Glenn Garlick, Bernard Greenhouse,

    Eleonore Schoenfeld and George Moquin, (members of the ACC), recently presented a symposium about starting a new cello society at the third World Cello Congress.

    The ACC is sponsoring the upcoming 6th American Cello Congress, and Leonard Rose International Cello Competition and Festival, May 24 - June 2, 2001 at the University of Maryland, College Park Maryland, USA.
