ELYAKUM SALTZMAN

Elyakum Saltzman was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, where he studied the violin under professor Sondezkis, and graduated from the Music Academy there. He immigrated to Israel in 1974, and joined the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra a year later. Since 1978 he has been the section leader of the Second Violins of the IPO. Mr. Saltzman appears as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and other orchestras, including the Luxembourg European Soloists. He also performs in other chamber music groups and recordings.
