Claudine Bernard
Cellist

My name is Claudine Bernard. I am 32 years old, and make my home on Long Island, New York, where I am an elementary school teacher/technical editor. Currently I am working for a medical publisher.

I have a BS degree from Fairfield University, and an MA degree from Long Island University.

Besides cello, I am also interested in Irish dance/music, TRAVEL, languages, reading and movies.

I've been playing the cello since January 1999. As a child, I learned piano, flute, guitar and French horn, but always really wanted to play the cello. Unfortunately, my school district had no orchestra, just the band. I was happy with these instruments, but for the past few years I haven't been able to get the idea of trying the cello out of my head. So, at the age of 31, I rented a cello, found a wonderful teacher (Ms. Ingrid DeMilo), and here I am...in love with playing the cello. I'm still terrible, but I practice every day and hope that eventually I'll play well.
