Classical musicians listen to other music, too

My class at my alt. high school was surprised today when,
after correctly identifying Shostakovich 7th symph, they
changed the station on the radio to some alternative station
and I knew all the words to a Garbage song.

My stereo currently holds Blues Traveler, Natalie Imbruglia,
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (gotta love swing! baby), Dixie Chicks,
and Dave Matthews.

I can't belive that classical musicans listen 'just' to
classical music. Apparently, most non-classical people I
know seem to think I only know Mozart and Bach and have never
heard of the Verve.

Have you guys ever experienced this opinion? What other kinds
of music do you listen to?
