I also remember seeing this cellist. Her name escapes me at the moment......perhaps because I had to cringe dozens of times when people used to say to me, "Keep practicing that thing and maybe you'll get to play for Lawrence Welk!!!" My masculinity was already challenged enough in my sports-oriented school just for playing the cello. To this day I REFUSE to smile when I play. (Actually, truth is I've had to develope a stern-looking poker face in the orchestra to keep the conductors uneasy when looking in my general direction!)
