Hi folks -
My 13-year old cousin has been playing trumpet in her school
band for I think three years now. She seems to me to be
talented, but she hates practicing and wants to quit.
And I think I know why - she has the most BORING stuff
to play!! It's all band music, mostly rests and dumb melodies.
I thought maybe the two of us could do some duets together,
it might give her something to work towards, and something more
melodic and interesting...but I don't know where to find music!
I would be willing to arrange/transpose some music, but
I don't know what. Does anyone have ideas, reccomendations, or tips?
I'm also a little confused as to how the intonation works.
I know that her A is my B flat, or is it the other way around? (So I guess I don't know!)
I'm also going to try and find a more brass-oriented place to post my
query, but I thought maybe somebody here could enlighten me a bit
from the cellist's point of view...how do you play chamber music
with a trumpet?
