Now don't laugh at me...I can't recommend any recordings
(I only have Ma's, which I like), but I thought I mention
the image that came into my mind the first time I heard it,
and every time after.
When those first four notes started their repeating
march, I saw all these little gremlins with pitchforks
running around in this field. Nice day, nice weather,
beautiful field. All these gremlins. They were trying
to bite people's knees off.
DON"T LAUGH!!! That image just keeps popping into my
head whenever I hear that piece.
