Hi alex,

I don't think there are any quick fixes.. but I do believe you'll manage to play through the pain(doesn't sound so good though).

I was playing the Haydn C with my school orchestra a couple months ago. I practiced more than 6 hours the day before the concert and the next day when I woke up, I had so much pain in my right shoulder I had trouble lifting it. The concert went well though. Stage fright, adrenalin(sp?), pressure, concentration etc got me through and will get you through too. I know pain in the shoulder and the flu are different, but just thought I'd tell you my story, if it makes you feel any better.

Why don't you ask the pianist to perform a little bit quieter? That might help.

Good luck on your concert. :)

Theo
